Mountain View's football program announced Wednesday it has hired Vernon Wright as the high school’s Cornerbacks coach. Wright was previously Linebackers coach at Grayson and brings a vast level of experience from his 17-year career. Wright played collegiately at Austin Peay and is a native of Clarksville, TN. Wright is married to wife Reenesha and they have one daughter Naima. Head Coach John Poitevint stated "Vernon brings a wide variety of experiences from both the high school and collegiate levels. He was an instrumental part this past season in Grayson's State Championship run. He's a 'class-act' and loves working with kids. MVHS just got better with this hire!"

HOSCHTON — The shorthanded Mill Creek offense shook its struggles and ruled the fourth quarter Friday night.
The Hawks trailed Mountain View heading into the fourth, but used their rushing attack to pull away late for a 42-24 victory in Region 8-AAAAAAA football. They outscored their rivals 21-0 in the fourth quarter on two touchdown runs from Caleb Downs and one from Josh Battle....

LAWRENCEVILLE — A big second quarter lifted Brookwood to a 47-20 victory over Mountain View in non-region football Friday night.

Mountain View gave Lanier, one of Gwinnett’s most successful teams in recent seasons, a tight game last week before falling by a touchdown. It was the Bears’ second straight loss after losing 33-16 to Parkview in Game 2. They defeated Shiloh in the season opener, Poitevint’s debut as head coach.
“I'm really proud of our players and how they responded this week at practice after a tough loss last week,” Poitevint said. “Our team is working hard to improve every week and that is all we can ask them to do. We look forward to another opportunity to compete against a great team this Friday night.”

Palmetto Prep Academy, located in Columbia, SC, is a post-graduate prep football program that is dedicated to helping student-athletes earn scholarships to four year colleges or universities.

Congratulations to Ismael and his family on his post-high school decision and wish him only the best in his future endeavors!
It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that Head Coach Rob Kellogg passed away on April 28. He was much more than our school’s head football coach…he was a devoted husband, father, educator and advocate for young people. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Top 2023 QB recruits were graded using the S.T.E.P ratings algorithm, as we were able to obtain more data on recruits like stats, offers, awards and watched the entirety of each recruits freshmen highlight's. One underlying factor that is not accounted for in older recruits is whether or not the recruit was playing on the Freshmen team, JV or Varsity.
